Carval Web-based Manager and Employee Self-Service

Unity Online uses browser technology to deliver an accurate, easy and cost-effective way for keeping employee records up to date, managing HR processes and dealing with employee requests for information.

Installed with one of Carval's three main modules HR Software, Payroll Software or Time and Attendance Software, Unity Online drastically reduces the administrative burden on your HR department by giving employees and managers instant access to information as they need it. It's also a winner environmentally helping your company reduce or even eliminate the HR paper trail.

Unity Online includes the following functionality:

Security: The data that can be accessed by employees and line managers is controlled at managerial and administrator levels and appropriate security settings can be configured to prevent unauthorised access. Security extends down to individual field level on a Full Access, Read Only, No Access basis giving you total control.

Changing employee details at employee and manager levels: Depending on your choices a variety of employee details can be managed and changed on line reducing administration and ensuring accuracy.

Internal Telephone Directory: An Internal Telephone Directory that allows searches by name, Cost Centre, Location or Department is invaluable for larger organisations or those based in multiple geographical locations.

Absence Management: Online absence booking and authorisation tools automate the absence management process and greatly reduce the administrative burden on HR. The booking of TOIL is also catered for.

Appraisals: Adding Unity Online to Carval's HR Software allows the appraisal authorisation process to be completed online without the need for signing paper copies.

Clocking for attendance purposes: Employees can clock on using the Unity Online self-service system when used with Carval's Time and Attendance Software. This is particularly useful for companies where the installation of a traditional clock based system is not practical.

Time sheet input: Where Carval's Timesheet Software is in use inputting time sheet data and subsequent authorisation are all catered for on-line. Employee time can be recorded against projects and activities, which can be internal or client-based. Subsequent reporting is also provided so that detailed analysis of employee time management can be made.

Training: Training requests and training course evaluation can be entered via Unity Online at either employee or manager level. Authorisation is provided, with requests being processed online and written to the training database.

E-Recruitment: Unity Online lets candidates view and apply for jobs via your company intranet or website and their data will feed into Carval's Recruitment Software where HR Software is used saving you considerable data entry time. Anyone involved in the recruitment process for a particular role can then view the candidate data along with supporting documents such as CVs and manage the shortlist online.

Viewing payslips and P60 information: Where Carval's Payroll Software is used, payslip history and P60 information can be viewed and printed online.

To Do List management for managers: managers have tasks to do on either a regular or ad-hoc basis an online task list is provide to ensure company procedure is followed with agreed timescales. This could be carrying out appraisals, conducting back to work interviews or assessing a candidate's job application. Should a manager be absent a temporary substitute can be allocated.

Web-based reports: Unity Online provides web-based access to management reports (optional).

Email distribution: Links with your email system ensures that managers will know about changes or requests made in Unity Online as soon as they are made and employees know as soon as their requests have been authorised or declined.

Detailed Auditing: As with all the Carval products a detailed audit trail is maintained of all changes to employee data. If required email notifications can be set up to inform the necessary person within your company of a change of employee details.
