Publication of draft guidance on the ‘Promoters of Tax Avoidance’ legislation

The draft guidance on 'Promoters of Tax Avoidance Schemes' (highest-risk promoters) was published in May and can be found on the GOV.UK website.

End of Year Expenses and Benefits iForm

The new online End of Year Expenses and Benefits iForm is now available to download and make expenses and benefits returns for 2013-14 if you have 150 employee forms P11D/P9D or less to submit. It can also be used to amend a P11D, or a P9D, that’s already been submitted for 2013-14.

The iForm also includes the functionality to complete form P11D(b) only, but this must be printed off and posted to HMRC. To download the iForm, or for further information, please go to their website

All Forms P11D(b) and P11D  forms must be submitted to HMRC by 6 July.

Alternatively if you use either Carval's Uniwage Payroll Software or Carval's Unistaff HR Software you can utilise the in-built Expenses and Benefits module. Carval's Expenses and Benefits module enables you to record all the necessary information and print P11D forms and P9D forms for each employee.

Telling HMRC that your business has ceased

Employers who no longer need their PAYE scheme can avoid non-filing Generic Notification Service (GNS) messages and penalties by ensuring that they make their final submission correctly.
