Americana International Limited, home of fashion brands Bench, Hooch and Million Dollar, operates from a Manchester head office but now has a presence in over 30 countries and stores in the UK, Canada, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, South Africa, and Russia. The company employs close to 500 people in the UK.
Americana International was seeking to change from their existing outsourced payroll arrangements and bring payroll back in-house. This presented the opportunity to integrate HR and Payroll and capitalise on increased efficiencies. The company was seeking a solution that would help them manage HR processes for employees both in the UK and potentially other European countries too, so multi-currency capability was important.
A detailed specification was drawn-up which encompassed HR, Payroll, Expenses and Benefits, recruitment, training and performance management, plus a Time and Attendance solution to assist with planning rotas. With a geographically dispersed workforce the company was also keen to include functionality such as workflow and document management, Manager and Employee Self Service, e-payslips and surveys.
The company selected Carval’s HR Unity software, which includes all the required functionality and is totally integrated too. The solution provides HR software, Payroll, Time and Attendance and Expenses management on a single SQL database. This will maximise efficiencies, ensure real-time data accuracy and offer Americana International unrivalled cross-function reporting opportunity.
